The future is international
real,- opened its first hypermarket in Poland as early as 1997, now having a national wide store portfolio of 49 hypermarkets.
In 1998 followed the first store opening in Turkey, where further 11 hypermarkets have been opened on top. In the summer of 2005, the first real,- hypermarket out of now 12 stores was opened in Russia and starting in 2006 real,- enters the Romanian market. In total, over 100 hypermarkets have sprung up outside Germany in less than a decade.
An ambitions international expansion scheme particular in Russia and Romania will ensure further growth and confirms the dedication with in the METRO Group to internationalize real,- with its successful hypermarket format even further. 2
